That of God in everyone

Quakers believe there is "that of God in everyone", although some Friends prefer to use the word 'light' or 'spirit'.  This underlying principle gives rise to our strong belief that everyone is equal.  Hatred, war and prejudice arise from the ability to see groups of people as 'other', different, and somehow inferior to ourselves.  Some groups of people may try to persuade us to see others this way by labelling them as 'terrorists' 'perverts' or 'animals'.

Tha Quaker principle of that of God in everyone means that we cannot see anyone as lesser than ourselves.  Because of this belief, we will struggle against all hatred, war and prejudice, whilst engaging with those from all walks of life.
